Writing, Strategy and Communications

I help organizations turn complex ideas into clear, compelling stories — and find the words, arguments and strategies that make people pay attention.

I bring together more than three decades of experience in journalism, communications and public policy. I began as a journalist and foreign correspondent, learning how to find the story, ask difficult questions and explain complicated subjects to a broad audience. I later moved into communications and strategy, working with organizations at the intersection of ideas, business and public policy, including senior leadership roles at major global think tanks.

That experience gives me an unusual perspective. I understand both how institutions think and how audiences listen. I know that good communications isn’t simply about producing more content or finding the right message. It’s about figuring out what matters, why it matters, and how to make someone understand and act.
